Becky and Will’s April 2025 wedding at Carriage Hall was everything I love about photographing weddings here, completely relaxed & full of laughter. From the moment I arrived the vibe was incredible, and i loved the fact their only plan for the day was to celebrate their wedding day exactly how they wanted with zero pressure to be anything other than themselves.


One of my favourite parts of the day was that Becky and Will chose to get ready together. It instantly set the tone for the day and made for some beautiful, natural moments right from the start. No nerves & no pressure, just two people very much in love and ready to enjoy their wedding day together.


A Relaxed Spring Wedding at Carriage Hall

Spring weddings at Carriage Hall are always a dream, and this one was no exception! April brought gorgeous sunshine, soft light throughout the venue, and plenty of opportunities to make the most of the stunning grounds. Carriage Hall has incredible natural light in every space anyway, which means that all photos feel bright and true to how the day actually felt.


Becky and Will were completely happy to let me crack on and do my thing, which meant I could focus on candid, joyful moments between them and their guests. From emotional glances during the ceremony to uncontrollable laughter throughout the day, everything was beautiful and exactly how I love to photograph weddings.


Confetti, Laughter & A Lot of Banter

The confetti throw deserves a special mention, mainly because Will followed my instructions exactly, which had me laughing uncontrollably when editing as he never changed his face the whole time! I said to keep to try to smile through it and thats exactly what he did, the superstar. Add in the amazing as always amazing food, constant laughter and plenty of cheeky jokes flying around, and it made for a wedding day that felt more like celebrating with friends than “working”.


This is the kind of wedding where you forget you’re holding a camera because you’re too busy laughing along with everyone else and those are always the days that produce the most genuine, joy-filled images.


Why I Love Photographing Weddings at Carriage Hall

Carriage Hall is one of my favourite Nottinghamshire barn wedding venues to photograph even though it was technically a coach house in the past. The lighting is always beautiful throughout the day and the surroundings are always stunning especially during spring time when the blossom is in bloom. Every wedding at Carriage Hall that I've photographed so far has never let me down.


It’s a perfect venue for any engaged couples who want their day to feel relaxed and candid wedding photography that focuses on real connection rather than stiff posing. Huge shout out to the staff and Callum, one of their wedding co-ordinators, they are the perfect team for any engaged couples who want their day to feel fully relaxed and taken care of.

" I don't think I can even put into words how much it meant for us to have Sophie as a part of our day. From the moment we viewed Sophie's website and style we knew she was for us! Sophie made us feel right at home even from just the email correspondence to our zoom meeting to capturing the day we will never forget. I cry every time I look through the photos she took because it helps me relive it all over again. Sophie was so relaxed on the day - which very much helped when trying to get the whole family together for pictures (note don't do this while there are canapés(!)). She kept us laughing all day, especially when we knew how awkward we would feel during the more "formalised" photos but these came out perfectly. We will always laugh at how Will kept the same face through the confetti shot - definitely listening to your instructions.


We hired Sophie for our whole day - would absolutely recommend if you want someone who you can totally rely on, be there as your absolute hype woman, keep you smiling, laughing, on track and keep your family under control. The photos are perfect, there is nothing else to say. You have completely caught the perfect day for us and more.
